    I am using sca test card( 4000 0027 6000 3184 ), that requires a successful authentication complete before payment is done. When I am using your plugin the initial payments are being done but for the case of subscription renewal the payment is getting failed. I am getting the message as Stripe charge awaiting authentication by user : {user id}

    Is your plugin still allows subscriptions completely, for both sca and non-sca cards.

    I understand that normal payments are going through correctly, but that subscription renewals are failing.

    To confirm, are you working with our WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin or a different subscriptions plugin?

    I ask because of this:

    On and after September 14, 2019, your customers need to authenticate the first payment on their subscription. Exemptions are granted for recurring charges in many cases, including those that began before September 14, though it is the customer’s bank that determines whether to require SCA or accept the exemption.

    I know for certain that renewals work correctly with our Stripe and our Subscriptions plugins – however, I don’t know for sure that it’ll work correctly with other combinations.

    Yes, I am using the Woocommerce Subscriptions. https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-subscriptions/

    And the issues we are facing is with sca cards only.

    The simple solution I want is, can your plugin create off session payments?

    I’m not too sure what you mean by this above with regards to off session payments? Could you expand on that for us, please?

    With regards to your renewal payments failing if you reach out to our support team over at WooCommerce.com with regards to WooCommerce Subscriptons we’ll be happy to take a closer look at those for you in more detail.

    Whenever an SCA card is used then you must need to authenticate the payment, after that the transaction is completed. But in case of automatic renewal payments you can set off session payments as true and authenticate it once. So, the other payments will not require the authentication every time.

But in case of automatic renewal payments you can set off session payments as true and authenticate it once. So, the other payments will not require the authentication every time.

    Yes, that’s exactly how Stripe and our Subscriptions plugin work together. The first payment must go through SCA – after that, further payments for that subscription will not be SCA-confirmed.
