    `someone couldn’t subscribe, they receive a message telling that his email is not connected to any wordpress.com.
    So what’s that? All subscribers are obliged do have wordpress.com account? is there a setting to avoid this issue?
    precisely the widget give me this:
    You subscribed to this site before but you have not clicked the confirmation link yet. Please check your inbox.
    Otherwise, you can manage your preferences at subscribe.wordpress.com.

    btw the widget settings are in Italian but that answer is in English.

    No, people don’t need a WordPress.com account to subscribe, but when they sign up, they will get an email asking them to confirm their subscription.

    What the message is saying is the we sent them the confirmation email, but they didn’t click the link to subscribe. That link only gets sent once, so if they can’t find it, they can go to subscribe.wordpress.com, enter their email address and it will allow them to confirm their subscription from there.
