    Hello @yasbadri

in order to avoid failing orders, we have deactivated the PayPal payments option in the situation where a subscription is being purchased by a guest user.
The purchase should be possible as normal for registered users.

This is only a temporary adjustment until we get some improvements in place to avoid the failing 2nd payments of subscriptions done by guest users.

Can you confirm that this does not occur when you test this for a logged-in user?

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Thank you for your comeback.
Always the same problem with a user connected on wordpress and on paypal.
the site works local for the moment.

    Hello @yasbadri

sorry for the delay in response, I had to review a situation I created in my testing environment, but it seems this is not related to the issue you are facing.

Let me reply to your original issue:
There is a big difference in how the Standard and our Payments plugin function. With the Standard plugin, these subscription details are stored on the PayPal server, so they are aware of them. With our plugin, the PayPal server does not store the details of the product/order; instead, these details are stored in the order on the website.
Because of this, the PayPal details are found on the popup with Standard, but not with PayPal Payment (or Express Checkout). This is not a bug, but simply an outcome to how the plugin was designed. There is nothing you can do to get the same outcome to what you were used to in the Standard plugin.

Does that answer your question? Let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi @joostvandevijver

    you’re welcome !
I understood well then why I do not have a subscription product during the paypal payment.
So which plugin or technique should I use to tell paypal that these are subscriptions and that they have to make recurring payments?

If I understood correctly, we cannot subscribe with paypal payment?

    Hello @yasbadri

the PayPal payment plugin that had all order details stored on the PayPal server has sunset and will not be supported after March 2022. In our current plugin, there is no solution for what you are asking for, the plugin is simply not engineered in the same way.
The subscriptions should be possible when you use vaulting for card processing payments or have Reference Transactions enabled for PayPal payments.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding this.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi @joostvandevijver

it’s a shame that offering subscriptions isn’t that easy. I’m going to watch vaulting and Reference Transactions.

    thanks for your quick return
