    Hi,

I have been using your printer setup for a handful of restaurants now and everything has been working great.

We are having an issue with 1 in particular. We have WooCommerce Subscriptions by WooCommerce and while it looks like it creates a new order on the back end with a new order number, and we receive the email when it renews, however the printer does not seem to be picking it up. Thanks.

@elganza It’s good to hear that it’s been working well for your other sites. I’m fairly sure that I know the cause of your issue.

The current official version of the Star plugin from the WordPress repositories can only print orders that were generated through the standard web front-end. This is because print jobs are triggered by the WooCommerce “ThankYou” hook, which is used to generate the “thank you for your purchase” message that is displayed to customers when they complete an order. Any method of generating an order that doesn’t display this message, effectively doesn’t print.

If you install the 2.0 sample version of our plugin (intended to release officially on Monday) then you can change the print job trigger to one based on the order status, I think this will solve your issue.

    Hey Lawrence,

Amazing!!! Thank you so much! Do you recommend we just wait until Monday to update the app through the backend? A few days is ok, if it will be longer we can delete the current one and download the new one. Thanks again!

    Hi @elganza
At this stage it’s unlikely that the release version will be any different from the 2.0 beta 03 version that you can download from that thread, and several live sites are already using it, so I’d say it’s safe to install. But of course completely up to you.

Even if you wait until the plugin is published on Monday, updating it will not immediately fix your issue, you will need to go to the settings page and change the printing trigger option.

2.0 does contain quite a few changes, so if you are maintaining several sites, then it is probably sensible to manually install the beta on one of them now, so that you are comfortable with it before any other sites get updated.

Finally, I do recommend that you change the print job trigger on all of your sites after they have updated, because the “Thank You” hook has proven to be less reliable.
