    Hi,

just tested your plugin with the latest bbpress 2.6.3…

When I activate the checkbox, no user is added in the backend part for subscriptions (forum – subscription -> go to topic and select the topic and press the subscriber(s) link).

Subscription for registered user does work.

    How can I debug this?

    Hi Alex,
I have just tried it out with bbpress 2.6.3 and found no issues, subscriptions correctly go into the database. You should not expect the subscriptions to work in the same way as they do for registered users though, so you may not find them where you are looking for them. Just check whether they work ??

    Hi,

OK – I also see DB entries… and unsubscribing is working…

    However, following scenario:
    – registered user is subscribed to a topic
    – Guest writes a reply and subscribes to the topic
=> registered user get’s an email

    – registered user writes a reply
=> Guest does not receive an email

    – 2nd Guest writes a reply and subscribes to the topic
=> 1st Guest + registered user receive emails

    – registered user writes a reply
=> 1st and 2nd guest do not receive emails

    Can you please check?

I do notice some issues with this latest bbPress, you are right. It is just so annoying when they break compatibility for some useless update :@
I will look into it as soon as I can…

    Hi,

    thanks.

BTW – I added German translation for the latest stable release… someone needs to confirm.

I have no power over language packs shipped through www.remarpro.com, even though I am the plugin author (which is why I dislike this system and don’t use, still prefer the old fashioned language packs). You’d have to be appointed editor for your language to be able to submit translations, or get in touch with an editor. If you want to make a .po file with Poedit starting from the pot file shipped with the plugin, then I’ll be happy to include it in the next release ??

Thanks! Now that I look at it it looks like the plugin already had the german localization, since version 1.3.6.1. Is it not available for you?

    Hi,

yes – but it is a really bad one… not translated by a human/native speaker ??

Oh good, I will replace it then ??

I just released version 1.3.7 with both fixes the issue of notifications not going out anymore with bbPress >= 2.6 and ships your updated german localization. Thanks for reporting the first and improving on the second! ??

    Hi,

    thanks a lot!

I don’t know if we are having the exact same issue as Toengel or not, but we are definitely having issues with subscriptions. A couple of issues:

    – I click “Subscribe” at the top of the post. When I refresh the page or post a reply, it “erases” my subscription. I had to try about 3 times until it finally “took”.

    – A moderator type of person subscribes to a topic/post. They get notifications, then miss a notification. Then it starts working again.

    – 2 people subscribe to a post. One gets notified immediately of the new reply. The 2nd person doesn’t get notified until the following day.

We are running version Version 2.6.4

    Hi there,
this plugin does not add any Subscribe link at the top, so I don’t think it’s its fault. The action is handled by bbPress through an asynchronous request, so it might happen that if you leave the page too early it hasn’t been processed yet

For the other points, the behaviors are a bit odd and difficult to provide advice for. I would suggest some more troubleshooting and making sure everything else is working fine (emails, regular subscriptions without this plugin) before diving into looking for bugs in this specific plugin ??

    Have a nice day,
    Stefano
