    Hello,
my client is using the WordPress plugin together with your sending service.

We have been having a lot of difficulty getting the emails to send while the site was being developed on a staging server. The mailing list was created from the WordPress users which were in turn imported from a csv.

My client is a national organisation with users across several local government departments, all of whom had given their consent to be part of the mailing list. I tried to express this when setting up the plugin.

We have reached a point where the confirmation emails will not send as the subscriptions are pending review. I thought that moving the site to live would help as the domains would be more consistent, but the issue we have now is I cannot access the subscription key to enter into Worpress as the subscription is under review so not accessible.

I would be grateful if you can help me as I seem to be going around in circles. I have tried to follow the advice on the knowledge base articles as best I can and have verified the domain and the sending email, but cannot reach a point where confirmation emails can be sent and newsletters delivered.

    Thanks

    Hi @appsol,

I cannot access the subscription key to enter into Worpress as the subscription is under review so not accessible.

Can you please let us know what is your website URL associated with the pending subscription so we can check your account and see why it’s still pending review?

    Thank you!

    Hello Bruna,

thanks for looking into this. The website is at https://www.adasseast.org.uk/ for which I have set up a subscription, together with another for a staging site on a subdomain.

I’ve added the DNS entries and set up one confirmed email, though this is on another domain – would that affect it?

I’m in the process of setting up a forwarding mailbox for the adasseast.org.uk domain if that helps.

    Thanks

    Thank you, @appsol.

We sent you an email on June 2nd with information about why your subscriptions are still pending approval. We requested you to perform some actions but we never heard back.

My colleague David sent you a new email today, please check your mailbox and reply to us so we can proceed with the approval process.

    Thanks!

    Hello @bruberries ,

I think I remember the email you sent. It suggested we read the article: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/269-reconfirm-subscribers-to-your-list

Sorry, it’s a bit tricky as the site emails go to the client, and not to me, so I have to rely on them forwarding over anything relevant.

The problem is the site does not have a sign up form as this is a closed list of members of a local government network, so they don’t want anyone else to sign up. We’re just looking for a way for them to be able to send out notifications of events and updates to technical articles.

If we can find a way to send out the confirmation emails we can get all the network members to follow the link in those then we have them confirm their place in the list. It’s a bit of a nightmare, and I feel like I’m going round in circles.

    Any help, much appreciated.

    Hi there @appsol,

Can you please reply to David’s email with these details and we’ll review your subscription.

Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe!

    Hell @treibalen,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Could you re-open this topic as it is not resolved?

I have asked the client to look for the email from David but it is not there. I’m not sure why this is, but they definitely did not receive it.

I have managed to set up an alternate mail delivery service to send out the confirmation emails. However, as I cannot access the subscription key for the live site, the fact of subscribers confirming will not be passed onto the Mailpoet account, so will remain in pending state.

I need the subscription key from the live account in order to verify my mailing list in order to get the account state updated from pending. But I cannot do this as I cannot access the subscription key while the account is in a pending state.

Please therefore, can you either change the state such that I can access the key, or send the key to the registered email address?

I am close to the point where I advise the client to move away from Mailpoet, as I have never had this amount of difficulty using Mailgun, etc. I like the plugin, but the process to get authenticated seems prone to difficulties.

    Thanks

    Hi there @appsol,

I re-sent David’s reply to the owner of the MailPoet account.

If not, please contact us via https://www.mailpoet.com/support/premium/ and include a link to this thread.

We’ll be able to provide you with more information there.

    Cheers!

    Hi there @appsol,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

    Hello @treibalen
No problem if you want to resolve this. To be honest I’ve given up as I couldn’t get past your circular logic of just sending me back to the same answer which didn’t help first time and so certainly didn’t help third or fourth time.
Thanks for trying anyway. The plugin is good, but the mailing platform is almost unworkable.
