Subscription based, REALLY?

  • Why would I pay for the same thing again and again while it runs locally on my own server and doesn’t use any of your online resources at all? And don’t give me the standard “updates” crap, because if something works fine from the beginning, I don’t need updates!

    The Folders plugin has a very generous free plan which can be used on any environment (local included). The Pro version has more advanced features and you’re invited to upgrade if you feel like you can get value out of using it.

    Please keep in mind that you also don’t have to keep renewing your license, you can purchase it once and use it as long as you want. Our users renew because they want to get updates (new features, bug fixes, etc). We put a lot of effort into building new features and maintaining existing features.

    I am sorry. It wasn’t clear that I could keep using the same licence without renewing, only to sacrifice updates. That already seems more ‘fair’ to me. If something is working and meets my needs, I don’t NEED updates, but I would be willing to pay again if the updates make it worth to do so. I already purchased FileBird Pro for the site I was working on, but I will have a look at Folders again for any future projects.
