Subscription add-on bringing site down

    We have recently started to have issues with the subscription add-on.
    For some reason it is occasionally crashing our site and the error message is this:

    “WordPress database error Lost connection to MySQL server during query for query SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM wp_options made by require(‘wp-blog-header.php’), require_once(‘wp-load.php’), require_once(‘wp-config.php’), require_once(‘wp-settings.php’), include_once(‘/plugins/stripe-subscriptions/stripe-subscriptions.php’), update_option”

    We have reinstalled the latest version and it has made no difference.
    At the moment it is crashing the site at least once a day, sometimes only for a minute, but at other times for up to 20 minutes.

    Has anybody else experienced this issue?
