Subscribers to transactional clients
-
It has converted my recent clients from subscribers to transactional clients, and has taken them off my main list. How can I do to recover them now?

Hi @izquierdocreativo, thanks for contacting us with that question. Adding the right subscribers to your Audience is essential, and I am happy to help out.
If the customers have opted out, verify that the customer has declined marketing – you can see this by viewing the customer on the order. If
mailchimp_woocommerce_is_subscribed
is equal to0
they opted out at checkout. You can see this in the Custom Fields (usually below the order details). If the customer is set to
0
as noted, do you have any other plugins that work with Mailchimp that could be impacting the subscriber status?Let us know if you have any additional questions, or need any further information.

The plugin has started converting my subscribers and customers to transactional, just like I told you. It does it every time one of my clients, who have subscribed for years, even makes a new purchase. At no time do they have an option neither to subscribe nor to unsubscribe through their order. From what I see it is a new decision that the plugin has started to make and that is creating huge problems for me.
Thank you very much for answering, otherwise your plugin is great and helps me a lot.Hi @izquierdocreativo, you should see these values in the custom fields of the order as described. Sometimes you have to enable them in the “Screen Options” at the top.
Also, if you log in to the plugin’s admin area, you’ll see a tab for “Audience”. Under the “Opt-In checkbox settings”, you can give the option on how or when the opt-in to marketing is shown at checkout. This text can be modified from the standard “Subscribe to our newsletter”. The choices are:
– Visible, checked by default
– Visible, unchecked by default (recommended setting)
– Hidden, unchecked by defaultBy chance is the setting set to “Hidden, unchecked by default”? If for any reason you can’t see this setting, we’re wondering if you have a plugin or theme conflict somewhere. Also, please ensure you’re using the most up to date version of the plugin which is v2.7.2 at the time of this post.
We look forward to hearing back from you.
I have the same problem but not for all my clients, I can trace this back to around May that it started.
From time to time, a client will order something and his status will be changed to Transactional without him doing anything else. I realized this because one of my employee stopped receiving the mailing list he sends himself. I found other clients that has been on my list for a few years suddently getting transformed to Transactional.
I do not see any
mailchimp_woocommerce_is_subscribed
line in their order but I saw that orders that are ok have themailchimp_woocommerce_campaign_id
andmailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site
both without value and the order that are changed to Transactional don’t have these lines.Do you know where I can look for to resolve this?
ThanksI have been with the plugin for a long time and it has been since an update of it. I have not configured anything different and now it does not do its function well. I have my plugin in its latest version.
Thanks.@izquierdocreativo actually what you’re experiencing doesn’t sound like the expected flow of the plugin at all. We can not replicate this scenario that you’re describing, but maybe we’re missing something.
If you could please enable the remote support on the plugin, and let us know which domain you’re debugging we can try to look into this for you.
Also – if you have a particular customer in mind to look into – please just send that to
ryan
atvextras.com
so we can keep that information private but still be able to assist. The problem continues. This morning I have received two orders from clients and they have both become transactional. And just after updating to the new version. Please, we all say that it is a problem that exists and that it is generating many problems in our data. Try to solve it as soon as possible.
Thank you very much.@izquierdocreativo, we’ll be glad to investigate further. Please enable remote diagnostics, post your site URL and provide an order ID where this behavior occurred.
Hi @izquierdocreativo, we’re going to close out this ticket for now since it’s been a few weeks since we’ve been in touch.
Please let us know if you still need any help and we’ll be glad to reopen and troubleshoot further. Please note, that the best way to reach us is over at the GitHub plugin page: https://github.com/mailchimp/mc-woocommerce/. From there, you can receive direct responses from the development team, log new issues, download the latest version, and track existing support tickets.
I have a problem with Memberpress Woocommerce and MailChimp
I’ve been having problems for a while now when someone signs up for one of my memberships on memberpress, because the payment is accepted but it shows up as a transactional customer in MailChimp. This happens several times a week. Some days it works normally and other days it doesn’t.
Yesterday a Mailchimp support person showed that Memberpress sends the customer as subscribed, but WOOCOMMERCE later changes it to transactional.
I am attaching the code provided by the MailChimp support agent, Where you can see how the Woocommerce API changes the status of the client to transactional.
Other reasons why customers remain as transactional is when:
-Subscribed customer buys a product
-Inactive customer updates their subscription
-Subscribed customer changes to another subscription levelImages:

NOTE: The test were carried out taking into account that the client approved the subscription to receive emails
