Subscribers not receiving email of new post

I just installed the WordPress update 3.7.1. Then I published a post but my subscribers did not receive email notice of new post. I had no problems like this previously. I read the forums but they are quite old and none applied to new updates. I installed and ran the Check Email plugin and it said “This test email proves that your WordPress installation at https://travellittleknownplaces.com can send emails.” I’m wondering if I should uninstall and reinstall the WordPress update. Any suggestions? Anyone else having or had this problem?
