subscriber settings issue

Once signed up, a site’s subscribers are having a hard time updating their preferences. They are all getting, “Sorry, there seems to be an error on the server. Please try again later.”

I’m not locating any settings to help them do such things as: change their settings for “Receive email as” from Text to HTML, etc.

Any thoughts?
