    Hi there

I’m having a go with Hustle, and I seem to have it all set up correctly, but when I test by adding an email to the list via the optin form, it does not make it through to my mailchimp audience.

I have mailchimp integrated properly (according to other posts I have found relating to this in this forum). I have selected the appropriate mailchimp list. I also have local lists installed so I can check if the optin form works, whichi s does.

In “email list”, when i click on the test subscriber details, it says below: “You can check if the data is submitted to your active integrations and the information returned by the integrations if any.” I see this information:

    Info
    Bad RequestSomething went wrong. {“type”:”https://developer.mailchimp.com/documentation/mailchimp/guides/error-glossary/”,”title”:”Invalid Resource”,”status”:400,”detail”:”Your merge fields were invalid.”,”instance”:”00f9c4a8-277e-48e8-9bf3-3a5f7943ef66″,”errors”:[{“field”:”MMERGE3″,”message”:”Please enter a value”}]}
    Member status
    Member could not be subscribed.

Can anyone help, please? i dont’ know why this is happening.

    Hello @beckseden,

From the error I see ion your info:
    errors”:[{“field”:”MMERGE3″,”message”:”Please enter a value”}]}

Looks like if this field is correct – maybe there’s a typo in Mailchimp or in Hustle. Can you check if the fields are mapped correctly?

    Thank you,

    Hi @wpmudev-support7

Hmmm – now it’s coming up with this message.

    Info
    Bad RequestSomething went wrong. {“type”:”https://developer.mailchimp.com/documentation/mailchimp/guides/error-glossary/”,”title”:”Invalid Resource”,”status”:400,”detail”:”Your merge fields were invalid.”,”instance”:”fd6bfa54-ea25-4d0b-9faa-025dbfc93150″,”errors”:[{“field”:”DATEADDED”,”message”:”Please enter the date”}]}
    Member status

I think MMerge 3 was DATADDED until I changed it.

In Mailchimp, the field label is Date Added and the field tag is DATEADDED.

In Hustle, under emails>opt-in form fields, the field label is Date Added and the Name is DATEADDED.

This field is a hidden field in both mailchimp and hustle.

So have I got this configured incorrectly? I want the date added to be automatically generated (not filled in by the subscriber).

Because of this, in mailchimp I have defined the default merge tag value for the signup form as *|DATE:X|*

Was this incorrect? DO you think this is why it might not be working?

    Hi @beckseden

Let me check if we are on the same page.

The DATADDED is to set the Date Added on the MailChimp?

If so, this is not required, you only need to set FNAME, LNAME and EMAIL following the documentation: https://mailchimp.com/help/all-the-merge-tags-cheat-sheet/

The DATE:X must be used with date format, for example *|DATE:d/m/y|* however, this is used to send the email to your subscriber, the API will automatically add or update the Date on the contact list, you don’t need to have the hidden field.

Let me know if you are trying to take any different action.

    Hiya

Ok, so it seems it’s not that field that is preventing it from working.

I removed the dateadded field to test it, but it is still not sending the subscribers to mailchimp.

What I am trying to do is add Email address, FName, LName and date added to my mailchimp list.

Since it seemed it might be the dateadded field that is messing it up, I removed it from the hustle popup fields list. But alas it still doesn’t send to mailchimp.

    Hello @beckseden,

I tried to replicate the same on my end but I could not replicate it, Could you check on your end if the field name under the column Put this tag in your content in Mailchimp is the same value as the in the Name field in Hustle?

    Thank you,

    Hi @wpmudev-support7

I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean in that sentence, but please see fields in the image linked below.

    Hi @beckseden

    Thanks for response!

What my colleague meant was to check fields configuration in “Emails” section of your popup: click on “Edit” next to the field and make sure that value in “Name” option is the same (including lower/uppercase characters) as the value for related field in MailChimp – at MailChimp end.

Taking a look at fields configuration could help and I appreciate sharing that but, unfortunately, the link that you posted is redirected to the homepage of your site. Would you mind sharing the image with us again?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hi @wpmudev-support8

Ah, sorry about that. I copied the permalink but that wasn’t enough. Here is a better link

Yes, the field labels are all the same except for email. Email in mailchimp is upper case. Email on Hustle is lower case and I am not able to change it on either Mailchimp or Hustle.

    Hi @beckseden

    Thanks!

So that looks legitimate (actually, the email field “lowercase” is fine). I also imported your form to my own setup and tested it and it worked fine too.

It seems we are missing something specific to the site then. I have visited your site but I can’t see this popup there. Is it on some specific page or it’s disabled?

If it’s disabled, could you enable it back (may be on some test page, just let me know where exactly) so we could test it there too?

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hi @beckseden

    Thank you for the link.

I don’t see anything wrong on the page that would indicate the integration not working.

    Let me check something else:

The shared screenshot isn’t from our Native integration, but from the MailChimp plugin.

    https://www.chezchien.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/chez-mailchimp-signup-field-settings.jpg

Could you try to disable any other MailChimp plugin on your website, and try to reconnect MailChimp following this guide?
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hustle/#mailchimp

Let us know the result you got.

    Hi Patrick

The screenshot your reference is not from a plugin in WordPress. It is a screenshot of the form builder in my mailchimp account on the mailchimp website.

I tried what you suggested, as I did have a mailchimp plugin activated, but it is still not sending to mailchimp.

Thank you for trying to help, but at this stage, I feel I’ve spent too much time trying to make this work for me without really getting anywhere so I will explore other options.

    Thanks

    Becky
