Subscriber IP not submitted to MailChimp

  • The Subscriber IP is not submitted to MailChimp as ip_signup field, see API reference at https://developer.mailchimp.com/documentation/mailchimp/reference/lists/members/
    (ip_signup is NOT a merge field, so I can’t just add it in the Advanced Settings)

    If that IP is not submitted, Mailchip just takes the webserver’s IP as ip_signup, but that’s always the same for all subscribtions. That IP is useful to recognize multiple (maybe fake-) subscribtions, and probably it’s GDPR relevant.

    Without that IP, this plugin is useless for me. Switched to MailChimp for WordPress instead, it detects the IP and submits it to MC.
