    Thanks, I have looked it over and none of it seems to be a problem. Subscribe2 will send out sometimes but not every time.
    I’m wondering if it has something to do with updating to the latest WordPress version.

    i have the same problem. daily digest goes out each day at 12.00 local time for months now. since updating wordpress daily digest has been very unreliable and today has not sent at all. also i vae lost the function where i used to be able to set the time / date for a monthly or daily post. it was another option set under the rdaio buttons on the email settings page. can you help? please? thx

    @craftygardener,

    Variable sending patterns are usually caused by sending restrictions on the web server, you need to speak with your hosting provider about what limitations they impose and how these are implemented.

    @shtetlvoicecomau,

    Unless you have somehow got an incomplete update to WordPress (which may be resolved by a re-install in Dashboard Updates) this is again a case of talking with your hosting provider.

    I know it isn’t the host or server, as it is a family business and the server is owned.
    I’ll just wait and see, and if it continues to work this way I will be uninstalling Subscribe2 and using another service.
    Thanks for trying to help.

    @craftygardener,

    You might want to install an email logging plugin then – if the emails are generated but not sent then it isn’t the plugin. If they are not being generated then it’s likely to be a configuration issue in the plugin – possibly excluded categories, or maybe a plugin conflict.

    I tried a new post this morning and no emails were sent out.
    I checked the categories, all were checked. I have no idea if the email was ever generated. Will check that later today.
    It worked perfectly until a couple of weeks ago and then all this started to happen.

    @craftygardener,

    I checked the categories, all were checked.

    Check the categories where? (There are several places where they are listed).

    Thread Starter CraftyGardener

    (@craftygardener)

    under the settings for the plugin … made sure they were all checked … under notification settings for my subscriptions … under registered subscribors …
    … categories on post were checked to correct ones

    Where else are they listed?

    @craftygardener,

    If you have checked all of the categories in Subscribe2->Settings under the Registered Subscribers tab then you are ‘Excluding’ all categories (exclusion take precedence over compulsory categories) so you are suppressing all emails. Uncheck all of the compulsory and excluded categories and try again.

    (@craftygardener)

    there are no registered users … all public users
    I’ll go and check what you mentioned …

    (@craftygardener)

    nothing is checked in the excluded area

    @craftygardener,

    The way you have things configured I suspect people can’t subscribe either if your sit is at https://www.craftygardener.ca.

    Your form on the home page directed to:
    https://www.craftygardener.ca/about/navigating-site/

    But Subscribe2 is not available on that page to process the form input. You also have the AJAX code for the Subscribe2 form enable only you aren’t using the AJAX version anywhere that I looked.

    (@craftygardener)

    I use the Subscribe2 widget at the top of the home page and the top of the single posts page.

    When I’m not logged in I see the widget and the place to enter an email than the choice of Subscribe and Unsubscribe, which is what visitors will see. I have tried using another email that I have and when I subscribe, a pop up comes that says Thanks for subscribing an email is on its way for confirmation. When I unsubscribe the same pop up appears with the same message. It goes to either Unsubscribe confirmation or subscribe confirmation when the link in the email is clicked.

    So it appears that you can either subscribe or unsubscribe from the widget. It goes to the navigating page so that new members can see how to get around the site. There is no form on that page as the people have already subscribed.

    If you click the Subscribe or Unsubscribe without filling in an email address then it just goes to the navigation page.

    I do have emails subscribing on a regular basis.

    I did unclick the AJAX option as you mentioned.

    I will leave everything as is till the next post goes up. I have noticed in the past that if I publish and nothing is sent out, I can revert to draft format, republish and it will probably send out the notification.

    I appreciate all your assistance.

    @craftygardener,

    The AJAX implementation is supposed to be a link to click to open up a popup form, if you want that re-enable the AJAX part and then in the Widgets page open up the Subscribe2 widget and select to display the form as link with the “Show as link” option.

    If reverting to draft and re-publishing sometimes results in a successful email then it may be a server resources issue at the time of publishing. I can think of no reason why it would work a second time but not a first time in the plugin code as the exact same code and functions would be called and processed.
