• Subscribe2 is no longer sending notifications of my posts. It no longer has an option to send when I “POST”. It says next post will be after a date in April of 3022 and will not let me change this date. I see the plus-in was updated 2 days ago. Obviously something is wrong with it. Please help!

Are you still rolled back to 10.37? What did you set for “frequency of e-mail”. There is still no way to select “POST” as there used to be. I still am rolled back to 10.37 and have set to 0. I had to change that setting sometime back to batches of 30, as it stopped working set at 0. After changing to 0 now, I was able to change that “next post will be after” date to January 5, 2023. I was unable to change it previously. I’ll post here again if this now works. Thanks for continuing to post here. Still very mad that author seems to be ignoring us.

i am on the latest version. I did not roll back.

Well, I got two notifications that I posted, but no one else got one. Guess I’m back to square one!

What do you have set in this section?

    Send Emails:?
    ?Once Hourly
    ?Twice Daily
    ?Once every week
    ?Once Weekly
    ?Once Weekly
    ?Twice a Month
    ?Monthly
    ?Once Every Month
    ?Never

It used to have “Post” at the top the list, but it has disappeared.

    Hi,
Thought I’d chime in, as I’m experiencing the same issues––the new Subscribe2 is no longer sending emails. I am, however, still getting the option to choose Send emails for each Post. Doesn’t function, though.

Another thing that’s puzzling–– in the Send Email menu option (beneath the Settings tab) if I choose to send to All Users and Subscribers, it won’t hold it, but reverts back to Registered Users. ??

I managed to go back to a fully working Subsribe2 version 10.37. I want to share with other users how I did this. This worked well for me. Of course I don’t know if it works for other users as well as their Subsribe2 database may have been confused by several recovery attempts. But it’s worth giving a try.

    1. Log out of the WordPress site running Subscribe2 version 10.39.
    2. Download the Subscribe2 version 10.37 installation (.zip) file using this link.
    3. Delete the “subscribe2” subdirectory in the “…../wp-content/plugin” subdirectory of your WordPress website. For this, you need to have direct access to the subdirectories of your website, for example via FTP, Filezilla, etc. If necessary, ask your website provider to delete the subdirectory for you.
    4. Log in to your website. WordPress is now probably complaining about missing and subsequent disabling the Subscribe2 plugin. You can ignore this message.
    5. In the WordPress menu choose Plugins -> New plugin. Next press the “Upload plugin” button (or something similar; I translated this from Dutch). This button is located at the top of the screen.
    6. Select the file “subscribe2.10.37.zip” which you downloaded in step 2.
    7. Press the “Install now” button and then the Activate button.
    8. You should now have a working Subscribe2 version 10.37.

Here’s what I did to get the notifications of posts working.

Got 10.27 version by using wp rollback.

changed a number of settings in the subscription widget so that it worked correctly. Basically just put them using the old proper instructions. (put automatic subscription form on a page)

Put the recipients per email at 1 from 0.

Put receive emails to plain text excerpt.

    Didn’t touch templates.

Checked?Show the Subscribe2 button on the Write toolbar?

Used button in write for automatic email subscription form.

Set subscribe/unsubscribe page as default page.

About four hours of trial and error to figure this out and it appears to be working now. Finished in wee hours of the morning. A waste of precious time.
