• Hi, my client has a lot of courses and products for sale on her site and uses Subscribe 2 to allow Student Users to access the courses. Users report being logged out, unable to log in. I have a test Student User and logged in fine, but was then unable to log out. I also notice that the plugin is not up to date with the WordPress version. Please can you update it, asap?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @bloohair,

Thanks for getting in touch but I am sorry to inform you that I am a bit confused about the scenario you are referring to. Subscribe2 is the form, email subscriber notification plugin where your use case is to allow student users to access the course. How you have achieved that, is it possible to share more details on this?

In the meantime, I would like to mention that in your use case could you please left the Subscribe2 plugin inactive and check the whole scenario again. If you can do this, it will help us to get the idea of whether the scenario cased by the Subscribe2 or not.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Yes, please can you go to [ redundant link removed ] and attempt to sign up for a course, then attempt to log out.

I have had another email from my client this morning:-
‘have another person who is locked out … this person never bought anything else but online class… could it be something to do with people being students and not customers??

When I was changing a password for a customer once I have seen there is a different status?’

If you need back end access, I can send it to you (by a secure facility of course)

But the plugin is not up to WP 5.6….

@bloohair Do not make that offer again please. If @reachmazharul Took you up on that offer, even away from the forums then they would risk being banned and losing their plugin on this site. It is that serious.

You don’t want to get any plugin author banned, do you?

Jan – I’m sorry, I didn’t know that was forbidden!

    Hello @bloohair,

Thanks for providing an update. We are very sorry for the whole scenario that you are experiencing but still, I am unable to get the relation between Subscribe2 and the inconvenience you have mention.

Please allow me some moments to explain in which area Subscribe2 does work, Subscribe2 provides email management and notification system for WordPress blogs that send email notifications to a list of subscribers when you publish new content to your blog. It doesn’t have any inbuilt option for any reset password, bought a course, or access option.

It may cause by the internal theme or plugin conflicts. That’s why it’s my humble request for you to run some of the tests.

Note: It’s highly recommended to take a full backup before proceeding with the conflicts test.

The following section provides instructions for determining if an issue you are experiencing is caused by a theme or plugin conflict.

    1. Theme Test
=> Switch to the default WordPress theme as we know that the default WordPress theme is coded properly. Now try again and see if the issue is still there. Take note if you see a difference in behavior after you have switched the theme. Switch back to the theme you were using.

    2. Plugin Test
If the theme didn’t have anything to do with the issue then move on to the plugins section. There are many WordPress plugins out there and not all of them are coded nicely so let’s see if you have a plugin installed that is not playing nice.
=> Try to deactivate the plugins excepts Subscribe2 then check again.

Let us know how it goes for you.

Thanks for your help. I do know about deactivating everything and reactivating. Backups get taken regularly. Was rather hoping not to do that, that’s all.
