    Hey MDC,

YOu can use any comment subscription plugin with Epoch.. Including Postmatic Basic. It’s free and available here.

If you have any feedback on Postmatic or things it could be better at please let us know!

Does Postmatic replace mail poet? I’m a little confused here about what Postmatic actually does. Is it for comments or posts? MailPoet lets you automatically send out newsletters based on the posts you write and they also give you open stats, and all that stuff..

Postmatic Basic does send new posts to your subscribers (which they can reply to to leave a comment). It also handles comment notifications (much like Subscribe to Comments except with replies enabled as well).

Overall you can think of it as an engagement platform: it delivers your content, and makes it easy for people to have conversations around it.

The paid version of Postmatic is more of a Mailpoet replacement. You can read about Postmatic Basic and the differences between it and our paid plugin at our website.

In a nutshell though: use Epoch to replace Disqus. Use Postmatic Basic to replace Subscribe to Comments and/or Jetpack.

    Best,

Do you HAVE to use the “new posts” feature of postmatic basic or can you just use it as a simple subscribe to new comments tool?

Oh it’s totally modular. Use whatever pieces you want! I’m on Slack right now if you want to chat… you can find our chat widget in the footer of https://gopostmatic.com.
