Subscribe Notification for Password Protected Posts

Commenters not getting comment subscribe notifications even when the box is checked on password protected posts. (We are using a master password plugin, Global Post Password). Is there some way to correct this? Since we’re using the Jetpack module for all the subscriptions, switching out to a different plugin setup would lose all the current site and comment subscriptions. Thanks for whatever suggestions you can offer.
