    Hey all,

I just installed the free version of Jetpack and promptly put a Subscribe block in my main sidebar.

My problem is, the shortcode is not actually rendering. Rather, what’s there is the actual code of the shortcode:

[jetpack_subscription_form show_subscribers_total="false" button_on_newline="false" custom_font_size="16px" custom_border_radius="0" custom_border_weight="1" custom_padding="15" custom_spacing="10" submit_button_classes="" email_field_classes="" show_only_email_and_button="true" success_message="Success! An email was just sent to confirm your subscription. Please find the email now and click 'Confirm Follow' to start subscribing."]

    Not sure how to remedy.

    Advice appreciated!

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

That shouldn’t happen. Did you try to remove and readding it? The issue can also occur because of the Jetpack connection for the site. Could you please post your site URL here so that we can have a look?

    Thanks.

I will Delete, then reinstall, and see if that works.

Right now, I’m just working off a development instance of WordPress, running in a Vagrant box on my workstation.

    Much appreciated!

    Hi @mcyzyk

I took the shortcode that you gave and inserted it into a live site running Jetpack and it worked.

You mentioned using a local development instance, is it set to Offline Mode in Jetpack? If so, that may be impacting this feature.

If not, could you try adding the Subscription Block to see if that works?

Is there any way to get it work in Offline Mode?

    Hi @mcyzyk

The Subscription Block uses a feature that highly depends on a fully-connected Jetpack, so it won’t be possible to use it while on Offline Mode, which only enables the feature that doesn’t depend on a WordPress.com connection; you can find more about that below:

    https://jetpack.com/support/development-mode/

Let us know if there’s anything else.
