subscribe adn unsubscribe

  • can you provide documentation or a link to more info on how to use/implement the SUBSCRIBE and UNSUBSCRIBE links? I am sending email to a user role so people will have established accounts. if they have an account I see no place in their account an option to unsubscribe or subscribe.

    Hello digitaliway,

    Please find the steps below

    To send subscribe link to users :

    – Go to ” Send mail ”
    – Select user / Role / List
    – Choose template
    – Add subject
    – In the message section put following shortcode : [[subscribe-link]]
    – Click on send mail button

    To Send unsubscribe link to users :

    – Go to ” Send mail ”
    – Select user / Role / List
    – Choose template
    – Add subject
    – In the message section put following shortcode : [[unsubscribe-link]]
    – Click on send mail button

    thank you for the reply but I need in instructions on how to setup the the unsubscribe and subscribe page in the settings area? I have the email shortcode working but clicking the links does not function.

    You need to create subscribe page and paste shortcode [wp-email-users-subscribe list=”your-list-name”].

    Then go to the setting tab of the plugin and add :

    1) Enter Unsubscribe confirmation page URL

    2) Enter Subscribe confirmation page URL (without http/https)

    I see your shortcode, but I am emailing to a ROLE not a LIST. Is there a way to unsubscribe someone if they have a user account with a specific role assigned? I looked at the users and your plugin does not create a checkbox in the user profile for UNSUBSCRIBE from mailings?

    No you cannot exclude any user, if you are sending mail to user roles, and if that user is not unsubscriber.

    I appreciate your responses. I really like the functionality of your plugin, but without a way for users to unsubscribe when having a user account and being in a role we are not meeting the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements. I know this is a free plugin, but do you have any plans to offer a premium plugin with users being able to go to their profiles and unsubscribe from mailings?

    Hello digitaliway,

    We really appreciate your encouragement and kind words. Yes, we are planning to go for a premium version of the plugin with exciting new features, we will definitely consider your suggestion for the same.

    Dito on this and away to edit all templates. Needs to be GDPR Compliant quickly as the laws came into effect on the 25th of May 2018.
