Try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks in your admin panel. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

I already did that, and no htaccess instructions appear when re-saving the permalink structure.

Ok, and you still get the 404s?

Can you give us a link to the site with the problem? Everything under the site linked to in your profile seems to be working.

Sure! Here is the link –> https://www.ho33.com/test

you will see the submenus if you hover the mouse over the ‘Category’ menu.

Those are categories. They don’t work because you don’t have any posts in them.

Once you add posts to each category, they will begin to function as they should.

thanks for you answer, but I think those aren’t categories. They are all subpages that I created under the ‘Pages’ menu. May I give you username and password so that you can access the administrator?

    (@macmanx)

No, those are categories. Note the /category/ in the permalink. ??

I’ve just solved the problem!!! I renamed the ‘category’ page to ‘motos’ and that worked. Having a page named ‘category’ has conflict with wordpress structure, I suppose.

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Ah, yes, that would definitely conflict with the structure. ??

Maybe the wordpress core developers should prevent users from creating pages named ‘category’

    (@macmanx)

That would probably be a good idea. ??
