"Submit" on fillable PDF not working

The company I work for would like to have fillable PDF forms online. for job applications, etc. However, the “Submit” button does not work. When I have the form open on my desktop, not from the WordPress site, it does open an email when you click “Submit”. We used to manage our website through Microsoft Frontpage, and it worked just fine then. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The form doesn’t need to be embedded in a page.
