Submit form taking too long

  • Hey guys,

    My Contact Form 7 is taking way too long to submit…sometimes close to 10 seconds. I’m wondering why it may be taking too long.
    I currently have my WP site configured to send emails via SMTP using the Office 365 smtp server (this requires authentication as well). I’m assuming perhaps some of the time spent is because the plugin is trying to send the email synchronously and the SMTP servers are just too slow. But this is just a guess. If this is the case, is it possible to set up the plugin to send the email asynchronously to reduce the request time?
