Submit button won't activate

I’m trying to set up Event Registration and have it replace an existing event management plug-in.
I’ve set up an event with the registration functions located below the event information. I’ve set up the event registration fees to be active before the event.
When I fill out the registration information and select an item number, the total does not calculate and the submit button does not activate. I’ve checked the settings and — and as far as I can tell — have the pages, shortcodes and fees set up correctly. Thoughts?
