• Hi, if a submit button in a theme is a gradient, and you try and override with a custom color on a form, you can not do it, as the CSS added with the custom colour is background-color: …. where the default gradient styling is background: …., if the plugin set it is as background: … it would work.

The reason for asking is we are trying to make a site dummy proof and requires no custom CSS for a client.

    Hi,

Thanks for submitting the issues. Your analysis is correct in that background-color gets overridden by the background CSS property.

I am still considering whether switching from background-color to background will create any issues for existing users.

One possible solution would be switching from background-color to background only if ‘important’ is enabled under General settings.

Are you saying the important solution is available already or not?

Or even a switch that says use background instead of background-image for that form?

Anymore thoughts on this as we are really looking for a solution?
