I am using Paypal gateway for Give plugin. It used to work fine but since last few months, the donors are getting this error “You don’t have permission to do that!”. I can make donation when I visit the site via WP dashboard. I have not changed any original settings and have the latest updates installed. Please help.

  • Hi there,

We can help resolve that with you no problem. Typically when we hear things like that are happening, it tends to be a JavaScript conflict with another plugin. I’d suggest using the Health Check plugin to troubleshoot that. It will allow you to deactivate all plugins and put your site on a default theme ONLY for yourself — your live visitors will not see that. We have a write-up on that here:
    https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/troubleshoot-wordpress-websites-health-check/

Then you can enable plugins one at a time and test again until you see the problem again. Then let me know which plugin caused the conflict and I can take a closer look at replicating the issue for you.

    Thanks!

Thank you gsamsmith for replying to my issue. I installed the Health Check plugin and tried to do as video suggested. The thing here is – when I am logged in the WP admin, I can do the transaction without any issue. The problem comes when I try to make a donation from outside of the WP admin i.e. like an end user. This is when I get this error message “You do not have permission to do that!”.

I hope, I could explain the issue.

    Hey @satyendra99

If that’s the case then it definitely sounds like a security check is failing. It could be a variety of factors, a conflicting plugin as mentioned before is what I would likely pin it to but caching may also be affecting it. It’s hard to say what exactly could be the cause of the issue without digging into it. This isn’t being reported by our other users so my guess is there’s a configuration issue on the site that needs to get fixed. If you contact us we’ll be able to help further outside of this public support forum.

    Hi Devin,

How do I contact you outside of this forum? I tried to do so via https://givewp.com/contact-us/ but the Reasons for contacting do not have a choice that I can use.

    thanks,
