• This issue doesn’t really affect my case much, but it may be a source of confusion for others so I thought I’d post it as it might be worth mentioning.

When I awarded myself a badge through the profile section of my administrator dashboard, the badgeos_submission shortcode for that particular badge would seem to break and not display my submission or the interface. Same happened with badgeos_submissions.

I then realized that awarding a badge in this manner does not log any submission because obviously a submission was not officially made, the admin simply awarded it. So technically the behaviour isn’t exactly unexpected, but it might not be intuitive. I can imagine those who have the privilege to view submissions may be confused by certain individuals not having a submission for a submission type badge displayed by the shortcode if an admin awarded it through the profile section of the dashboard. In the end if someone doesn’t know that an admin awarded the badge through the profile back end they might think there are entries missing.

Again, this is a very specific case I accidentally came about and is really not much of an issue – certainly I wouldn’t imagine it being a priority – but I thought it would be worth a mention as a feedback piece.

Makes sense, but at the same time, I imagine most of those cases would be easily resolved by talking to one of the admins about it. Guess I’m not sure how we would potentially “resolve” the discrepancy as well. Still valid thoughts and concerns though.
