submenu items highlighted as current

  • I am using this plugin to create a submenu where the parent item is highlighted when one of its child items is active.

    But the situation i have now is that when I choose the main menu item, the sidebar showing the submenu is all showing as active. I have tried and failed to find CSS to fix that.

    When I go to one of the submenu pages, it works the way I want: the top menu item is highlighted, and the page I am on, but not the others.

    Is there a way to “un-current” the submenu items of that top level menu item when it is active?
