    Hi,

    I have installed the bbPress Notify No Spam plugin.

    When the notification email is going out to the Author of the Forum Topic the Subject of the email looks very weird like this:

    =?UTF-8?Q?[mywebsite.com]=20?==?UTF-8?Q?Reply=20T?= =?UTF-8?Q?o:=20Rabbits,=20Cats,=20Chi?==?UTF-8?Q?nchillas?= =?UTF-8?Q?,=20Compare/Contrast?=

    Do you have a clue how to fix this issue in order that the subject line of the email looks at it should?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Regards,
    Daniel

    Ahh I think I have found the problem. Is it because the box “Encode Subject line using UTF-8.” was ticked?

    However I have unticked the box. Let’s see what happens..

    Hi @danielehrat,

    Yes, it was indeed the UTF-8 subject line encoding option that causes what you describe. However, it’s not a bug but a feature. All modern mail clients are able to handle that sort of encoding, and it is what allows the display of emojis and such in the subject line.

    You probably only saw that line in the mailout logs, which is fine. It’s not what the mail clients will display. Deactivating the option will stop encoding it and your logs will look normal.

    Cheers,
    Vinny
