First of all, thank you to everyone willing to help out with the many problems people have had. These forums are incredible.

My question/problem is this, and I hope ita€?s not painfully repetitive. What began as a link system on the side of the page has suddenly overgrown and taken on a life of its own. I have contemplated registering several domains, each subject specific, but would like to try this first.

What I am trying to say it that I would like to create a system where I can create mini or sub blogs inside the url blog. This would be created so that the main page is not so scattered and completely random. I would be able to list on the sidebar the other pages…say a DVD/Movies page. Then all links and posts would go there and not be posted to the main page. I have read about using an invisibility option, but haven’t been able to find this. One other thought would be that maybe it would be easier to load completely separate WP installs in subfolders on the server? Any advice or help would be much appreciated, Thanks.

OK, I am not sure I completely understand your question.
First you mention a “link system”. Is it about external links managed through the Links Manager admin panel?
Then you mention different subjects as if it was about categories of posts.
    Could you please, clarify it?

Sorry for the unclear posting. I was only refering to the massive amounts of links on the main page. My fear is that with so many different subjects, anyone looking for specifics would get lost easily and just turn back.

I will try to describe my intent, maybe that will make the most sense. The way things are set up now(and please remember my blog is less than a week old, so it is far from where I would like it)I have many link categories and then obviously all posts are displayed on the main page. What I would like would be a way to clean up the mainpage so that when you open the page, you only see one link to each page, and posts that are only seen on the intro page and then inside each sub-page I would be able to post subject specific links, pictures and posts, that would not be seen on the main page. Basically this would create a bunch of completely seperate blogs inside one domain. Hope that makes more sense. Thank you for your help.

No, it doesn’t really make sense – the way how you want to organize your content.
(for a moment, let’s forget the external links – you can put them on a separate Page, nicely organized; that would leave 1 link on the mainpage!)
As I can see you have only 1 (one) category till now: Uncategorized. The way to organize your content is ro create and use post categories. I think categories would be what you call “subjects”.
Furthermore, using plugins and the knowledge base from the great oracle known as Codex you can define which categories to display on the main page, which only on their own category archives etc.
You can even have different layouts for different categories.
The only thing is – try to play wiht your WP install, learn the possibilities and its features, then try to think in that framework about organizing the site. It’s much easier than trying to twist it in an un-natural way just to arrive to an already existing, built-in feature.
Post back, if you have more questions.
