subheading input field missing for authors

    I recently updated WordPress to 3.5.1 (German) and now all of a sudden the input field that used to be just below the field for adding the headline is missing.
    Deactivationg and reactivating the plugin sadly didn’t help and as of now I don’t have a clue on what to do.
    I should also add, that the plugin is up to date and that the subheadings that were added before the update on 3.5.1 show up as usual. It seems to be a problem with the authors-environment.
    Do you have any idea on what I could do?

  • Had the same problem, and considering you uninstalled and reinstalled, you probably checked it, but maybe it will help someone else googling.

    The plugin appears to reset the “Enable on Posts” field after updates. “Enable on Posts” is down at the bottom of the list of settings, so I actually just glanced over the settings without really noticing that the most important setting was unchecked.

    So, if the plugin isn’t working, go to Settings > Reading and double check SubHeading is actually enabled.

    Ahh, thank you. It was all so simple ??
    As a matter of fact I did only de- and reactivate the plugin which didn’t change the settings. Problem solved for me.

    Apologies, there was an issue with regards to the upgrade process between versions prior to 1.6.

    Deactivating and Activating the plugin again seems to be the common solution until now, along with adjusting the settings.

    Hopefully this has since been resolved in 1.7.1.
