• I have successfully created a subfolder and uploaded a file to it.

When viewing the file list to download, it shows the new file on the same level as all other files. Can I show the subfolder in the list? Am I missing something?

    Thanks

Hi, which file list you mean? Have you added the file viewer in a page or post? This viewer shows a list of files in a tabular format without folder information (for security reasons).

Just to confirm from your reply, although I can upload files to a subfolder (successfully), when my clients wish to download it they cannot see subfolders as all files are shown.
If this is the case, the whole idea of having subfolders for convenience sake is pointless, subfolders were to make the ease of use for my clients customers. There will eventually by hundreds of files pertaining to the clients different products.
Also please explain to me the security reasons.
    Thank you.

In general it is not a good practice to expose the path of the files in the front-end. It can be exploited by hackers in various ways (get knowledge of the file structure, execute php or js files, etc.). Furthermore, the purpose of the file viewer was to show the list of files together with other properties in a table format.

If your subfolder structure is only one level (no subfolders inside subfolders) then we can add a column in the table to show the subfolder with some few tweaks. We can also add a search bar above the file viewer, so that your users can easily filter the list according to the subfolder.
