• I have a blog in my main domain blog folder, running for about one year.

I have a subdomain in the main domain folder where I wanted to install another blog. I was told by my host “support” (use that word loosely) to set it up via their way because I could not get it to work otherwise.

When I did this it seemed to find my first blog in the main domain folder and hose it to hell or at least the user and config parts. I deleted the new blog files. The blog content looks like it is still there and in tact. The first blog no longer displays or reads and I had an admin window like an initial set-up when I went to it. I think either the wp-config.php or user info got messed up and I can’t figure out how to get it back. I tried changing the config info and uploading again, but no luck.

Anyone know what to do or troubleshoot? What went wrong is the key.

I did go through the steps on the Admin window just to see what would happen and then got a brand new blog instead of my original one.

I got the sql config working but the blog still seems to be lost or not displaying.

    anyone know?

sounds like to start both blogs had the same database and the same $table_prefix in wp-config.php

when using the same db, you must change the $table_prefix in each install to be different for both to work correctly.

what is the link to your initial blog not working?
