Subdomains – Root of WP Installation?

I’m on hostgator cloud/shared hosting.

In the instructions, domains to be mapped are added as ‘parked domains’ in cpanel. In this way, domains are automatically set to the root folder.

As such, when I test the domains now, it goes to a wp installation in the root folder, which is not the wp multisite I want.

I’m assuming the domains to be mapped to the multisite installation should have their domain roots be set to the multisite’s folder, not the hosting account’s root folder?

That means, in cpanel, adding it as a ‘addon domain’ instead of a ‘parked domain’ and setting it to the multisite’s folder yes?
