• I have a regular WordPress site at blog.domain.com. I’m trying to convert this to a multisite network but I can’t figure out how to make subdomains work like I want.

Once I convert the install to multisite, it wants me to create new network sites at subdomain.blog.domain.com. However, I need the subsequent sites to be at subdomain.domain.com. What is the correct way to do this?

I’ve tried using domain mapping plugins (both WordPress MU Domain Mapping and Domain Mapping from wpmudev.org), but I get some weird redirect loop behaviors (I’m using Theme My Login on the main site, which I think is contributing to the problem).

Domain mapping is the way to go, but not with a subdomain site.

Make the sites subFOLDERS so you have blog.subdomain.com/sitename

    THEN map that to foo.subdomain.com
