Subdirectory Multisite and SEO

  • I have Multisite configured with a subdirectory setup. I have people doing a masking forward with their URL to the subdirectory. My concern is this may have a negative impact on SEO? Is there a suggested way or plugin that handles this somehow without any negative impact on SEO?

    it might, if Google et al detect multiple copies of the same data.

    Like what? if you’re talking domains, there’s a plugin to handle that.

    If you use the domain mapping plugin, there’s an option to do a 301 redirect to the domain you map to, so no seo issues there.

    thanks ip and Andrea, I dropped in the mapping plugin and it worked great, just what I needed!
