    Hi guys ??

So, my feed was working well. Had a product category with 22 dreamcatchers (dr?mmefangere), all showing up in Google Shopping.

I added 4 subcategories in my webshop, and now only 5 products are showing up on Shopping.

Usually, I run each product category in their own campaign but now (some of the) products from the category are split up in Google Shopping, and it looks like this:

So, before, all 22 products where in the dreamcatcher (dr?mmefangere) category where there is now only 5.

However, when I look in Product Feed Pro, it seems to get it right:

All 22 dreamcatchers are in the product category.

So, does anyone have an idea of how I fix this so that the Shopping campaing shows all 22 products again?

I’ve tried using item-ID instead (when choosing in Google Shopping) but I can then only seem to choose 1 product.

Perhaps custom labels? I cannot find how to set it up, though.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for reading ??

  • Hi Martin,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

Did you check the content of your product feed by opening the feed URL in a browser? Are all 22 dreamcatchers products still in your feed?

Thank you very much for your reply ??

Yes, I keep all my products from all categories in the same feed, and all the 22 dreamcatchers are there.

However, when looking at the feed, I see that the product type (which I sort by in Google Shopping) is now different for many of them.

    So, rather that being

    <g:product_type>Dr?mmefangere</g:product_type>

    It’s now

    <g:product_type>Dr?mmefangere til b?rn||Dr?mmefangere</g:product_type>

So, the product type mentions both the main category and the subcategory, rather than just the main category.

I can’t figure out how to undo that, though. Any ideas?

    Anyone?

The reason the plugin is doing this is because you apparently activated both the main and subcategory as an active category for those specific products. You can solve this by only enabling the subcategory on the product edit page as an active category.

    Thank you ??

But that would then mean that I can only choose one of the subcategories in the campaign, right? I would like all the dreamcatchers to be in the campaign.

Also, if I only enable the subcategories, then the main categori would be empty, right? The main category is the one that ranks the best, so that would not be good.

Are there any other solutions? Or can it not be done? If so, I suppose deleting the subcategories would revert things back? Even though it would suck because the subcategories can rank as well, just on different key words.
