Sub Sitemaps on site installed in subfolder

Followed the instructions to configure plugin for a blog installed in a subfolder – so my sitemap appears at https://www.mattgallagher.me/sitemap.xml instead of https://www.mattgallagher.me/wpFclef/sitemap.xml
However the sitemap.xml file contains numerous sub sitemaps that point to files in the subfolder wpFclef and are therefore not found….
