• Hi
When event manager is installed , 4 major pages are created (1 Parent & 3 children)

+Events – Contains a list of upcoming events and a search form. (parent or page)
-Categories – Contains a list of event categories.(subpage or child)
-Locations – Displays the list of locations on your site.(subpage or child)
-My Bookings – Displays a user’s booking history and cancellation options.(subpage or child)

So the permalinks for the locations page as an example would be https://www.yourwebsite.com/events/locations but that is giving me 404 error…if you remove the location page from under events and make it a parent so the url would be https://www.yourwebsite.com/locations then it would work.

More examples: I created a page to display calendar and I have it as a child under the Events parent page…so the url is domain.com/en/events/calendar with this shortcode [fullcalendar] – it does NOT display and gives me an error but I remove the calendar page from under the events parent page so the url is domain.com/en/calendar ..it works perfectly.

Why EM would created as a child if it will not work?

I am interested to keep them children of event and add more children such as past events under the parent “event” page but it will not work- your thoughts?

I am using 4.2.2 WP version and Events Manager 5.5.6
The operating system on my server is Linux
I remember it use to work in the past…did not add any new plugins since was working other – but I have WPML …is that an issue? so my url will always have 2 letters language code right after the .com like com/en/ or com/fr/ etc.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Joe

  • Hi Joe,

Normally, child pages work fine. I think this could either be a theme issue (have you tried testing with the default WordPress theme?), or, as you say, connected with using WPML.

Do you also have our Events Manager / WPML compatibility plugin installed?

Just noticed the comment about your .htaccess file not updating in other thread. That could be a problem too. Have you tried changing the permissions on that file?

    Hi caimin_nwl

I tried it with the 2015 theme , no changes there.
I updated my WP to 4.2.2 yesterday and tried it today still no change there so my .htaccess is updated as of yesterday. although when you look at the last modified date I see march 28…and finally no I dont have the Events Manager / WPML compatibility plugin installed..should I?

I would give it a try, it’s intended to make the two plugins work better together, so may help with this problem.
