This is frustrating. I’ve been trying different plugins all week. This one looks nice, and has great shortcut helpers, but doesn’t allow me to create a sub page unless it’s parent has been published. Advanced Page Manager AND Nested Pages both allow the parent to remain unpublished. I use “fake” parent pages to group specific hierarchies. But I do not want those “fake” pages published.

If we can’t create sub pages with an unpublished parent, then give us the ability to create a folder of some kind.

Thanks for the compliment for the looks of our plugin Brandon!

We are gonna look into making it possible to make a sub page underneath an unpublished page.
Hopefully we can add this feature in January of 2016.

    We will keep you informed.

Followup: I’ve decided I can no longer use pages or custom links as “folders” because they will appear in the page’s breadcrumb trail, regardless of publishing status.

I wish there was a way to group pages in Swifty Page Manager, without relying on the parent/child relationships imposed by WordPress.

To bad to hear, but I get the issue.

At this moment we are not planning to add you’re second requested feature to group pages without relying on the parent/child pages.
