Sub Menu not keyboard accessible

  • I’m unable to use the keyboard to access items in a sub-menu.

    In the main navigation, there is a menu item called Programs. In the drop-down from “Programs” in the main menu, I am able to tab to each of the items in the drop-down. However, three of the drop-down items have sub-menus which I am not able to access with the keyboard.

    How do I set up sub-menus so they have keyboard access?

    The theme will probably need a JavaScript event tied to :focus that triggers the submenu whenever either the parent item or an item within the parent item is focused.

    All of the core themes have examples of ways to do this; the specifics, however, are frequently theme specific.

    Your options are generally either to contact the theme’s support to request they fix the problem or to make the fix yourself, by editing the theme.
