Sub Items in Main Menu

Hi

Can someone please tell me whether it’s possible to have one of the items in the ‘main menu’ be a placeholder for 2 or more sub-menu-items>

Our main menu is just a set of internal & external page links that takes up about 3/4 of the page width.

I’ve been asked to add a couple more links to it that would mean in most cases that it’s wrapping down onto a second line, not what I want at all.

Some of the items though could be grouped under a single heading so it makes sense to me to have them as sub items under a placeholder menu item that doesn’t itself have a target.

In the menu builder you can set items as children of other items, but they don’t appear on the menu when you hover over the parent item, and if you click the parent item it obviously takes you to the target of that item as there’s no way to add a menu item that has no target.

This must be doable, I just can’t see how.
