Sub Domain WP-Admin login refresh loop

  • Hi,

    I Have the website of camerabeanbags.co.uk and i have a sub domain of test.camerabeanbags.co.uk which i have duplicated the site to buy exporting the live DB and copying the files over to the test domain.

    I have followed all recommended steps but on the wp-admin page when I go to login it just refreshes this page and thats all. Even if i use in valid credentials I don’t get an error of logging in, just a page refresh…

    Below is what i have tried but has not worked.

    1. Tried from 3 different devices on 3 different networks
    2. Renaming the plugins folder to .old
    3. Renaming the htaccess file to .old
    4. Renaming my themes to .old so it uses the default
    5. In PHPmyAdmin i have entered the new test.camerabeanbags.co.uk URL in the WP_options table
    6. Also added the define rules to the WP-Config file
    7. Cleared all browser cache
    8. Asked host for error logs which there is non of
    9. Created another user in the DB which also did not work

    Please can you help me out here as this is driving me crazy as i don’t know the issue at all. I am trying to set file permissions in FTP to the recommended but I don’t believe this will work as I have never had to do this before. Any help is appreciated.

  • If its a sub domain, https://test.camerabeanbags.co.uk should not redirect to https://camerabeanbags.co.uk/test

    I am assuming you have already changed the home and site url on the test site.

    yep, i have also done a query to change all URL’s, I have installed it onto XAMPP now and am going to try and use duplicator to install to the test.domain now

    Worked by using duplicator after installing on Xampp
