Hi, I have a custom taxonomy with hierarchy ordered, like that of in-built category. when I import the custom post with that custom category, my sub-category terms in the csv sheet becomes the parent category.

    Any help ?

    Hi Chaklader

Sorry it’s not working for you, but you haven’t provided enough information for me to be able to give you much assistance.

Please make sure you’re familiar with:

    https://cpkwebsolutions.com/plugins/wp-csv/csv-column-descriptions/

The ‘category’ section, and then write back with exact details of what you’re doing.

    Best wishes

Hi, I have read your Column description.

    Now, my case is :

I have a custom category with name ‘customcategory’ and I have some existing custom categories field created. Like category1, category2 and sub-cat1 where sub-cat1 is a subcategory of category1. When I import post with this custom sub-category as sub-cat1.

After that this sub-category becomes a category.

    Hi Chaklader

Please show me exactly what text you’re using to import the categories.

    Hi,

I am writing only the Category Name, or Sub-Category name, not the slug name in the csv file when importing.

For the above case, I write Sub Category in the customcategory column. And this Sub Category is already existing as a sub-category of a parent category, so it should only goes to the Sub Category.

And then, this Sub Category becomes a category, where it was a sub-category.

And this is the problem. Hope you get it.

    Hi Chaklader

Please try using the slug name.

For category hierarchies, I recommend that you specify each item fully. ie

    parentslug~childslug:Child

I can’t provide any more support until you give me some real CSV data that I can try myself.

    Best wishes

    Paul
