I am trying to use “su_slider” with source=media and the image IDs.

I upload images with dimensions 740 x 370 px because these are the exact dimensions I need them to be.

However su_slider creates and uses a 600 x 300 variation of the image and then blows it up to 740 x 370. Which looks blurry of course.

Plus: Since I am using “replace media” from time to time to replace single pictures without the ID/URL changing, this is additionally frustrating because it doesn’t recreate the image used by su_slider, which doesn’t seem to be registered with WordPress. (And no, “recreate thumbnails” doesn’t work.)

How can I disable creation of image variations and force su_slider to strictly use the original file?

Should I use any of the other slider/carousel options? Which one is recommended for a very simple slider (one image at a time)?

    Hi @anchises,

sorry for the late reply. Use Image Carousel shortcode instead of Slider, it doesn’t have this issue.

Thanks, it worked. The one thing I don’t like about “Image Carousel” is how it ends and scrolls back to the left after the last image, instead of scrolling to the right to the first image again. Perhaps you could add a “continuous scroll” option or something?

I already have it in my todo-list and will add this feature in the future.
