styling the new (2.3) tags

hi all

maybe it’s a silly question, i’m not sure: how can i apply css styles to the new tags in wp 2.3? the tags are all a.tag-link-## where ## is always a different number. i don’t know how to define a selector which applies to all of them. i even tried just one, a.tag-link-12, and it didn’t work for some reason. is there a tutorial somewhere on this specific subject (maybe with some info on left & right justification of tag clouds?)
