  • Hey there, @jenesslim! Thanks for contacting us.

As I understand you are having issues with the Product Categories List block/widget where it shows an extra dot above the list, correct?

I was not able to replicate this on my website:

So it is possible this is something from the theme you are using.

But before asking you to test with another theme, can you please go to Products > Categories and share screenshots from it so we can check how your categories are set up?

From the screenshot you sent, it seems all categories have a parent category that it is not showing. If we can see all your categories on the Products > Categories page, we can check if there are any settings causing this.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi Carolm29,
Thanks for the help by identifying the issue with me. You may see my product category setting as screenshot below. I didn’t set any parent category and i have renamed uncategoried to All.

Meanwhile i have disabled the previous product category list in widget and installed a plugin “Iks Menu” for the sidebar category list.

As per screenshot below, you may find the odd/strange dot appearing as well.

    Hey, @jenesslim!

Thanks for the screenshots and for trying the plugin to check.

I checked your website and found that what is causing the dot to show is the maker element on the code.

This element is connected to Elementor, as you can see on the screenshot below:

This means that Elementor is probably adding this somehow to the widget.

Can you please reach out to their support so they can assist you further with this?

You can contact them here: https://elementor.com/support/

    Thank you!

Unfortunately i don’t have elementor pro subscription withme and i cant raise the ticket.

I have tried use css code to hide it base on the container, section or class id but it is still failed.

I have tried to locate the sidebar.php file but there is no code in it. It seems like the issue only applicable and occur when i am trying to use sidebar.

Hi, just to update i found the issue and solution

Issue: using code snippets plugin and enable widget feature in it can recover the traditional widget option under appearance. By doing so to enable sidebar will trigger the odd dot.

Solution: disable widget feature under code snippets, proceed to elementor and drag in IKS menu (another plugin to customize product category list layout), generate short code, and place that short code by using element given by elementor. Tada…. problem resolve, odd dot gone missing.
