• Have been using your plug-in since the beginning of September and very pleased with how it is shaping up. I have a few questions re. the styling though.

    (1) Is it possible to display a list view that just consists of the title/date/time/venue – no picture or other text?

    (2) How can I get the upcoming events widget to have a smaller font and are there any other styling options – a border for example?

    (3) The currency symbol – despite entering it in the designated field it never seems to show – I always enter it manually in the cost field.

    (4) When entering an event, is it possible to have it as an undefined time? “time to be confirmed”? I’ve tried using All-Day event but that makes it show on two days as I’ve set my day end to 4AM.

(5)Featured image – is is possible to make these a uniform size in the list view, whilst still maintaining the aspect ratio? Obviously some cropping would need to be done sometimes.

    (6) In list view, the text seems to lose all formatting.

    (7) The venue addresses could do with commas at the end of each field, so as to make their appearance in the list view more professional.

    (8) When setting up the venues I have to have the venue name and the town in the venue field as some venues share their names with others in other towns. This means that when the address appears in list view it goes – “venue name, town, first line address, town (again), postcode. Is there any way of handling this differently?

    (9) Is there a way of displaying only events from a particular category, via a drop-down menu or similar?

So many questions – sorry ??

should be one question per post to avoid any confusion!

    1. yes, you can change format at Events > Settings > Formatting > Events

    2. this is using custom css styling and adding the css snippet in your theme style.css – right click on the element > click Inspect Element to get the css class or id name.

    3. should be at events > settings > bookings > pricing options > Currency Format eg. AU#

    4. not possible atm, but you use conditional placeholder for this – https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/conditional-placeholders/

    5. try #_EVENTIMAGE{x,y} where x and y is your image width and height

    6. this might be a theme css issue

    7. you can change format at Events > Settings > Formatting > events

    8. use location placeholder – https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/placeholders/ at Events > Settings > Formatting

    9. try shortcode [events_list category=”x”] where x is the event category id

Thank you. Will start giving some of them a go. Conditional placeholders might be beyond me but will have a look!

Just one response at the moment re (3). I already have the currency format set.

If you have further questions or issues regarding any of these, please post them in seperate threads and describe the problem/what you tried

9 questions on one thread – with more replies, it’ll be too confusing to read through ??

I thought it was tidier to keep them all together rather than a proliferation of threads ??
Especially as presented in a numbered list. But hey ho – separate threads it is ??
I’ll keep this one for item (1) (which also applies for item (7) )

“1. yes, you can change format at Events > Settings > Formatting > Events”

I get as far as Events > Settings but cannot find a Formatting tab/entry nor anything else that seems to do the trick.
