I’ve downloaded several themes, which when extracted the stylesheet is clearly there. However, when I go to designate as current theme, it’s comes up as stylesheet missing. Is there anyway I can finally change current theme? This happened on at least 10 different downloaded themes.

    Thanks

  • Are the themes uploaded to the correct location? i.e. all of them in their own folder?
Sometimes during the unzip and/or upload it happens that double folders are created, e.g.
    wp-content/themes/newtheme/newtheme/
Also, stylesheets should have certain lines at the top, otherwise WP doesn’t recognize them.

EDIT. Where did you download the themes? Are you sure they are themes for 1.5 and higher and not styles for 1.2?

Yes, they are in their on folder:

    ie: Public-html/Blog/Content/Theme/Neptune

Yes themes for 1.5 and higher, and I downloaded from the WordPress Theme Viewer.

Thanking you in advance for your speculations.

    This one:
    Public-html/Blog/Content/Theme/Neptune
    and this one:
    public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/neptune
are not the same, I hope you are aware of that!

Wp-content is what I meant. However I have figured out my problem by looking further into your post.

    Problem solved.

    Thanks
