• Hello,

So I logged in through SFTP on Coda 2 to my site. I opened the style.css under wp-content, themes, etc.

Made changes. Saved and it uploaded.

I have no cacheing plugins. Cleared browser and it didn’t update the page with the changes. If I go back through SFTP, I find my stylesheet with my changes.

But if I do view source on the live page, it shows the old style.css. I don’t see another one in the files. And they are named the same thing.

Is there some other step I’m missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your time.

I actually had to reinstall WordPress and start fresh. Could not ever connect. Sorry. It stunk but fortunately I hadn’t progressed very far.

    Thanks for responding so quickly.
Are you still using Managed WordPress and have you had success editing files using Coda? Sorry if I didn’t understand your answer.

I am using managed WordPress. I haven’t actually tried since then on this account but I didn’t have trouble before with others. It was a weird situation. They didn’t know the issue because everything on their end seemed fine.

Well, looks like I’m going to have to change my client’s account from a Managed WordPress to regular hosted account to be able to edit the .css files in Coda. FYI, the other issue I noted with Managed WordPress is my BackupBuddy backups are real slow in the making —and I have a very small site. Tradeoffs! My recommendation for anything else that comes up for you is to consider the issue may have to do with the nature of a Managed WordPress site. I’ve read that some plugins are blacklisted with MW too. Good luck!

Okay, I take some of my previous post back. Upon calling GoDaddy to switch from Managed WordPress to a regular hosting account, the tech I got this time, gave me a different solution. A much easier one! The trick is to use the Flush Cache link at the top of the page after changing CSS style sheets. That seemed to do the trick. Whew*
